He settled permanently in Powell River in 1999 after meeting his partner, singer Sheila Butts. Together, they sing and he plays the violin in The Wild Woods Social Club, an eight-member band founded and led by Sheila, which celebrates the musical diversity of their varied backgrounds. Pierre represents the “French component.”

As a solo artist, Pierre sings songs by Jean Ferrat, Léo Ferré, Aznavour, Frédérick Mey, Véronique Sanson… as well as songs he has composed himself. He is strongly influenced by folk music, having grown up in the 70s and 80s. Groups like Malicorne, Tri Yann, and Beau Dommage were part of the soundtrack of his youth.

Pierre spent the last 25 years working in construction, and he is locally known for creating mosaics through his company, Til’Art. He has just retired.
